Furman 75, Northeastern 62

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Jordan Miller scored 16 points and Furman defeated Northeastern 75-62 on Thursday.

Miller shot 6 for 10 from the field, including 4 for 6 from 3-point range, for the Paladins (9-3) in the UCF Holiday Classic consolation game.

Furman, coming off a 71-53 loss to No. 19 Central Florida that snapped its five-game winning streak, never trailed, although the score was tied twice in the first half.

After the Paladins took a 37-25 lead into halftime, the Huskies (4-8), got within eight points at 41-33 with 15:21 left. Furman then used a 14-1 run to pull away, taking its biggest lead at 55-34.

The Paladins outshot Northeastern from the field 44.4 percent (24 of 54) to 38.8 percent (19 of 49).

Brandon Sebirumbi added 13 points and Amu Saaka had 10 for Furman.

Jonathan Lee had 16 points and Joel Smith added 13 for the Huskies, who have lost two in a row.
