SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Marc Trasolini scored 15 of his 22 points in the second half and Santa Clara beat Fordham 85-70 on Thursday night in the Cable Car Classic.
Trasolini, held to four points in the Broncos' 54-53 loss to Delaware in the opening round of the tournament, was 6 of 8 from the field and had a pair of 3-pointers. He scored 13 of Santa Clara's final 23 points, including a clinching dunk with 1:46 remaining, and had eight rebounds.
Kevin Foster added 15 points and Kevin Roquemore had 14 points and seven assists for the Broncos (8-7), who had lost three straight in their own holiday tournament.
Brenton Butler scored a season-high 28 points but had six turnovers for Fordham (6-6). Chris Gaston had 17 points and 15 rebounds for his ninth double-double of the season. The Rams have lost two straight following a four-game win streak.
