RICHMOND, Va. -- Bradford Burgess had 24 points and eight rebounds to lead Virginia Commonwealth to a 78-65 victory over New Hampshire on Thursday night.
Brandon Rozzell hit six 3-pointers and added 23 points as the Rams (9-4) won the Richmond Marriott Holidays on the Hardwood Classic.
The Rams took an 18-9 lead on Jamie Skeen's 3-pointer with 11:08 to play in the first half. New Hampshire (6-6) cut the margin to 31-24 with 4:06 remaining, but Rozzell and Burgess combined to score the next 12 points in a 12-2 run that gave the Rams a 43-26 halftime advantage.
Rozzell hit four of his 3-pointers in the second half to help Virginia Commonwealth maintain its lead.
Skeen finished with 18 points and the Rams shot 37.9 percent from beyond the arc (11 of 29).
