PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Tucker Halpern scored 15 of his season-high 23 points in the first half as Brown defeated Bryant 84-71 on Friday to snap a three-game losing streak.
The Bears (5-6) had 26 assists on their 29 field goals. They were 29 of 66 from the floor (43.9 percent) and 14 of 35 from beyond the arc (40 percent).
Halpern hit six of his first nine shots and finished 9 of 16, including 5 of 9 from 3-point range.
Brown took a 12-3 lead and led 47-34 at halftime. The Bears, who pushed the lead to 26 points with 8:25 to go, have never lost to Bryant in 10 games dating back to the 1985-86 season.
Alex Francis had 21 points and 12 rebounds for the Bulldogs (2-11), who were trying to win back-to-back games for the first time since the 2008-09 season.
