WASHINGTON -- Joseph Katuka's 16 points led four George Washington players in double figures as the Colonials routed Howard 85-50 Sunday.

Nemanja Mikic added 15 points, Dwayne Smith 12 and Tony Taylor 11 as the Colonials (7-6) took advantage of 30 Howard turnovers. George Washington scored 37 points off the Howard miscues.

Howard (2-10) trailed 41-36 at halftime. The Bison led by four with 5:55 left in the first half, on a layup by Dadrian Collins, who had 16 points.

But George Washington broke the game open with an 18-2 run in the first 4:53 of the second half with Katuka and David Pellom each scoring six points for a 59-38 lead.

Howard went nearly seven scoreless minutes toward the end, falling behind by 37. Outscored 44-14 in the second half, the Bison narrowly avoided eclipsing their most lopsided loss of the season. Purdue routed them 76-40 on Nov. 14.
