GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Amu Saaka scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Furman routed NAIA Division I member Virginia-Wise 82-55 on Monday night.

It was the Paladins' 30th consecutive victory against non-Division I competition dating back to the 1997-98 season.

The Highland Cavaliers (7-7) stayed with the Paladins (10-3) deep into the first half. Furman led 31-27 four minutes before halftime before launching a 13-0 run on a three-point play by Justin Dehm, who scored 13 of his 15 points in the first half.

Josh Jordan scored 16 points and Mark Phillips added 11 for Virginia-Wise, which made just 17 of 48 shots from the field (35.4 percent) and committed 20 turnovers.

Virginia-Wise made 12 of 13 free throws to stay close before Furman's spurt to end the first half, which ended with the Paladins leading 47-29. Their second-half leads ranged from 16 points to a high of 34.
