LEWISTON, N.Y. -- Novar Gadson had his second double-double of the season as Rider defeated Niagara 82-65 on Friday night for the Broncs' fifth straight win.
Rider (11-5, 3-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) is off to its best start since beginning the 1982-83 season 14-4.
The Broncs never trailed, breaking open the game at 21-19 with a 14-2 run and leading 47-27 at the break.
Rider led by as many as 27 in the second half.
Marvin Gordon scored 18 points on 6-of-19 shooting to lead the Purple Eagles (3-13, 0-4), who lost their sixth straight.
The Broncs outshot Niagara from the field 55.2 percent (32 of 58) to 29.9 percent (20 of 67). The Purple Eagles hit 10 of 29 3-pointers, while Rider was 9 of 18.
