HOUSTON -- Zamal Nixon scored 14 points, including four free throws in the final 16 seconds, and Houston rallied late to beat Tulsa 64-57 Wednesday night.

Darian Thibodeaux and Adam Brown each finished with 11 points for the Cougars (11-6, 3-1 Conference USA), who won a season-high third straight and for the fifth time in six games. Alandise Harris added 10 points.

Justin Hurtt led the Golden Hurricane (9-9, 2-2) with 20 points. Steven Idlet had 14 points and 12 rebounds and Bryson Pope scored 13.

Down 55-53 after Pope hit 1-of-2 free throws with 6 minutes to play, Houston scored the next five points to grab the lead. Idlet's dunk made it 58-57 with 1:42 remaining before Brown scored on a layup, and Nixon sealed the victory with four straight free throws.

Nixon was just 1 of 6 from the field but hit all 12 of his foul shots.
