Research Notes

Lost in the all the Jimmer jabber? There's a new No. 2 scorer in the nation. Amidst all the talk of Jimmer vs. Kemba, Xavier Silas slipped past Kemba Walker for second in the nation. The margin is razor thin, with Silas averaging 24.44 and Walker at 24.42. Wednesday, Silas scored 39 points in Northern Illinois' 83-74 win over Akron. The former Colorado guard spent much of the second half at the line, hitting 14 of 18 free throws after the break. How important is Silas to the Huskies? He's averaging 32.0 PPG in their seven wins.
