SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Brandon Moore had 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead Mercer to a 65-53 victory over South Carolina-Upstate on Saturday.
Brian Mills added 15 points for the Bears (8-14, 5-6 Atlantic Sun Conference), who won for the fourth time in five games.
Mercer outscored the Spartans (2-19, 1-10), who have lost 13 consecutive games, 40-25 in the second half to erase a three-point halftime deficit. The Bears held the Spartans to just six second-half field goals in 28 attempts (21.4 percent) and took their first lead at 31-30 on Moore's dunk with 18:11 to play.
The Bears led 41-40 before they went on a 10-0 run for a 51-40 advantage with 7:22 to play.
