TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Tony Mitchell scored 23 points to lead Alabama to a 75-61 victory over Mississippi State on Wednesday night and help the Crimson Tide remain atop the Southeastern Conference standings.

Alabama (14-7, 6-1) has won four straight games and nine of its last 10, improving to 12-0 at Coleman Coliseum.

The Bulldogs (11-10, 3-4) cut an 18-point deficit in half and pulled to within 53-44 on two free throws by Kodi Augustus with 11:14 left.

Then JaMychal Green sparked a 12-3 run with five points and Charvez Davis hit an off-balance 3-pointer as the shot clock expired to push it back to 63-47 over the next 6 minutes.

Mitchell, who had 15 second-half points, made 9 of 13 shots and both his 3-point attempts.

Davis had 17 points and made 5 of 8 3-pointers for the Tide. Trevor Releford added 16 points, eight assists and four steals while Green had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Dee Bost led Mississippi State with 18 points, seven assists and four steals. Bost was also just 6-of-17 shooting and had five turnovers.

Augustus scored 11 points before fouling out in the final 2 minutes. Renardo Sidney, who picked up two fouls in the first minute of the game, also had 11 points while Ravern Johnson added 10.

The Tide shot 56 percent in the second half and outrebounded the Bulldogs 39-25.

Alabama also had 12 offensive rebounds, leading to 16 second-chance points.

The Bulldogs have lost on nine of their last 11 visits to Tuscaloosa. This time Mississippi State had 12 turnovers by halftime against the SEC's stingiest defensive team, one short of the team's season average per game.

The Bulldogs only had two more turnovers in the second half but couldn't counter Alabama's hot shooting.

Davis had hit a 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer to send Alabama into the locker room with a 35-23 lead. Releford drove the baseline and dished it outside.

The Tide closed the half on an 11-3 run and held its 12th straight opponent to fewer than 30 first-half points.

Augustus picked up his third foul going after a loose ball with 4:02 left in the first half.
