Princeton snaps Harvard's 8-game win streak

    Associated Press

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Ian Hummer scored 17 points and hit two free throws with 4 seconds remaining to help Princeton preserve a 65-61 win over Harvard on Friday night.

The win leaves the Tigers (15-4, 3-0 Ivy League) tied atop the conference standings with Pennsylvania. The Tigers have won 22 in a row at home in the series and are 8-0 this season at Jadwin Gym for the first time since 1997-98.

Hummer (7 of 11) and Kareem Maddox (6 of 10) combined to go 13 of 21 from the field while the rest of the team made only 8 of 32 field goal attempts. Dan Mavraides added 15 points and Maddox had 14 for the Tigers.

Harvard shot 43.8 percent (21 of 48) from the field.

Keith Wright had his eighth double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Crimson (15-4, 4-1), who had an eight-game winning streak snapped.

Christian Webster chipped in 15 and Kyle Casey had 11 for Harvard.
