Jonathan Mitchell drains 3-pointer, free throw in final second to lift Rutgers
PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Jonathan Mitchell has a national championship ring from his freshman year at Florida. Now he has a game-winning shot in his senior season at Rutgers.Mitchell's four-point play with less than a second remaining capped a career-high 25-point performance and gave Rutgers a 77-76 victory over Villanova (No. 10 ESPN/USA Today, No. 9 AP) on Wednesday night.
• Jonathan Mitchell converted on a four-point play to give Rutgers the upset over Villanova.
• Rutgers' win snapped a four-game losing streak and a six-game losing streak against ranked opponents.
• Villanova lost despite shooting 55.8 percent from the floor (24 for 43). That's the third highest in a loss for the Wildcats over the past 15 seasons.
