KENNESAW, Ga. -- Spencer Dixon nailed a 3-pointer with 7 seconds on the clock to lift Kennesaw State over Florida Gulf Coast 69-68 on Thursday night.
The Owls (7-17, 5-9 Atlantic Sun Conference) trailed 68-66 before Dixon stepped back and knocked down the game-winner. Christophe Varidel missed a 3-pointer as time expired to seal the win for Kennesaw State.
A jumper by Varidel with 24 seconds remaining gave the Eagles (6-17, 3-11) a two-point lead before Dixon's game-winning 3-pointer.
Cummings and McConnell became the 12th and 13th players in school history to amass 1,000 career points.
