LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Eugene Phelps scored 19 points and Larry Anderson added 17 as Long Beach State defeated Montana 74-56 on Saturday night.

Casper Ware scored 12 points and T.J. Robinson had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the 49ers (17-10).

Brian Qvale scored 17 points and Art Steward 13 for the Grizzlies (19-8).

Long Beach State maintained a consistent cushion for the entire BracketBuster game, which matched the leaders of the Big West and Big Sky conferences.

Montana got as close as 54-46 in the second half. But the 49ers pulled away with a 14-2 run over the next 4:41, sparked by Phelps' three consecutive baskets.
