ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- Darnell Porter scored 23 points, hitting five 3-pointers, and South Carolina State snapped a seven-game losing streak to North Carolina A&T with a 71-57 win Saturday.

The Bulldogs (7-19, 3-10 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), who came in having lost 10 of their previous 11 games, ended a four-game skid and split the season series. The Aggies won the first matchup 84-74 in overtime on Jan. 22.

S.C. State held North Carolina A&T center Thomas Coleman to a season-low two points -- on 0-for-1 shooting -- and two rebounds. Coleman came in averaging 17.2 points and 11 boards per game.

The Bulldogs opened the game on an 11-0 run, allowed Aggies to get to 33-28 at halftime, then started the second half with a 14-3 spurt.

North Carolina A&T (12-15, 7-6) could get no closer than 12 after that, ending its two-game winning streak.

Marc Hill's 20 points led the Aggies.
