DOVER, Del. -- Kwame Morgan scored 15 of his 23 points in the second half and Hampton held on to defeat Delaware State 71-64 on Saturday night, snapping a three-game losing streak.
Hampton shot 53.8 percent from the floor (14 of 26) in the opening half en route to a 35-31 halftime lead.
Marques Oliver gave the Hornets (9-18, 5-10) a brief lead, 39-37, on a jumper with 18:25 remaining, but Delaware State would trail the rest of the way.
Hampton remains two games behind MEAC leader Bethune-Cookman (18-11, 12-3) with two regular-season games left.
