COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Kevin Murphy scored 25 points and Zac Swansey hit the go-ahead 3-pointer as Tennessee Tech rallied to defeat Jacksonville State 77-75 on Saturday night.

The Golden Eagles (18-11, 12-6 Ohio Valley Conference) won their fifth straight game and nine of their last 11 to close out the regular season and head into the conference tournament as the fourth seed.

The Gamecocks (5-25, 3-15) dropped their last five games and did not qualify for the tournament.

Trailing 70-63 with 4:52 to go, Tennessee Tech used a 9-2 run, capped by Swansey's 3-pointer, to lead 74-72 with 37 seconds to go.

After DeAndre' Bynum made a free throw to get within one, Zach Bailey hit two foul shots, then Swansey went 1 for 2 with 8 seconds to go.

Stephen Hall, who led Jacksonville State with 18 points, hit a layup at the buzzer.

The Golden Eagles outrebounded the Gamecocks 41-28.
