BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Langston Hall scored led four players in double-figures with 18 points as Mercer rallied to beat Samford 83-78 in overtime on Wednesday night.
Mercer (5-3) opened up a four point lead, 77-73 within the first 40 seconds of the overtime period. Hall took advantage of Samford missing their first three attempts in overtime, knocking down a 3-pointer to extend Mercer's lead to 80-73.
Samford (1-5) closed the gap to two, 80-78, with 49 seconds left but Hall hit three free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
Samford showed poor shot selection in overtime as the Bulldogs took nine shots from the field, but were only 1 of 7 from 3-point range.
