    NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Kenderek Washington scored a career-high 29 points and Alabama State beat Texas Wesleyan 88-80 on Sunday in the Lumberjack Classic.

    Tramaine Butler scored 25 points for the Hornets (2-6), who hit their season high in points in part because of making 12 of 26 3-point attempts (46 percent). Ivory White had 10 points and 13 rebounds for Alabama State.

    Eric Frederick had 33 points and 10 rebounds for Texas Wesleyan, which plays in NAIA. Oscar Griffin scored 14 points for the Rams.

    Stephawn Brown added 12 points for Alabama State. Washington had five of the Hornets' 12 3-pointers.
