OXFORD, Ohio -- Denver Holmes had 15 points, leading five double-figure scorers as Evansville rallied in the second half and held on for a 77-75 win over Miami (Ohio) Tuesday night.
The RedHawks led 35-26 at halftime and 44-36 early in the second half. But Troy Taylor's layup and a Cox 3-pointer sparked a 16-2 run for a 52-46 Evansville lead with 11:58 left.
Miami pulled within 60-59 with 6:40 remaining, but a Holmes' dunk helped Evansville put together a 7-2 run to seal it.
Evansville outshot Miami by the slim margin of 59.1 percent (26 of 44) to 56.5 percent (26 of 46), but forced 13 Miami turnovers and tallied seven steals. Evansville turned the ball over eight times.
