MALIBU, Calif. -- Corbin Moore had 19 points and 12 rebounds as Pepperdine defeated San Francisco 77-61 on Thursday night in the West Coast Conference opener for both teams.

Taylor Darby scored 14 points for the Waves (7-5, 1-0). Caleb Willis had 10 points, nine rebounds and seven assists and Jordan Baker added 10 points.

USF (9-5, 0-1) was without head coach Rex Walters, who was serving a one-game suspension. In April, the WCC announced Walters would miss this season's conference opener for violating the league's sportsmanship guidelines.

The Dons were led by Angelo Caloiaro's 14 points. Perris Blackwell added 11 points and seven rebounds.

Pepperdine never trailed and ended the first half on an 8-0 run to go into the break with a 39-30 lead. The Waves shot a season-best 51.9 percent from the field and enjoyed a 41-29 rebounding advantage.
