NEW YORK -- Meiko Lyles scored 25 points to lead Columbia to a 67-52 nonconference victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Monday night.

The sophomore guard was the only scorer in double figures for the Lions (9-5), who have won nine of their last 10 games. He hit 7 of 14 shots from the field and made 8 of 11 free throws.

Kinu Rochford scored 15 points to pace the Knights (1-11), who have lost nine straight.

A 3-pointer by Lyles gave Columbia an early 6-4 lead and it never trailed after that. Fairleigh Dickinson got its final tie, 14-14, on Melquan Bolding's layup, but the Lions ran off the next 13 points on their way to a 31-17 halftime lead. They led by as many as 24 points, 63-39, with 4:10 left in the game after a 3-pointer by Chris Crockett.

The game was the first between the schools located 10 miles apart.
