BALTIMORE -- Dylon Cormier's 3-point corner jumper with 3.1 seconds left gave Loyola (Md) a dramatic 61-60 victory Thursday night over Manhattan in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference thriller.

The sophomore guard, who hadn't hit a 3-pointer in 100 minutes of play in the Greyhounds' three previous games, hit the trey for the game-winner. Cormier finished with 11 points, as did teammates Shane Walker and R.J. Williams.

Walker had given Loyola (10-4, 3-1) a 58-57 lead on a free throw with 2:09 left. Michael Alvarado, who scored 10 points for Manhattan, scored to give the Jaspers a 59-58 lead with 58 seconds to play.

George Beamon, who finished with a game-high 18 points for Manhattan (9-7, 2-2), blocked a shot, grabbed the rebound and was fouled. But Beamon made only 1 of 2 from the foul line. That opened the way for Cormier's 3-pointer. Manhattan subsequently didn't get off another shot.
