PHILADELPHIA -- Frantz Massenat scored a career-high 24 points to lead Drexel to a 64-58 victory over Virginia Commonwealth on Sunday night.

The sophomore guard hit 7 of 10 shots, including all four of his 3-point attempts, as the Dragons (10-5, 2-2 Colonial Athletic Association) won for the eighth time in nine games.

Chris Fouch's layup after a VCU turnover and Derrick Thomas' jumper with 2:29 remaining gave Drexel a 57-53 lead.

The Rams (11-5, 2-2) scored twice on free throws before Damion Lee iced the game for Drexel, twice getting fouled and making both free throws for a 61-55 lead with 18 seconds left.

Thomas finished with 10 points for Drexel. Dartaye Ruffin had nine rebounds, five on the offensive boards, and blocked three shots.

Bradford Burgess scored 19 points and Juvonte Reddic 15 for VCU, which led 43-36 with 15:29 to play but then went 5:02 without scoring.
