HARRISONBURG, Va. -- A.J. Davis scored 21 points to lead James Madison to a 74-67 nonconference victory over Hampton on Monday night, ending a three-game losing streak for the Dukes.
The Pirates (6-10), who had won their past two games, led 54-53 after Mike Tuitt's jumper with 10 minutes remaining before James Madison used a 16-3 run to go ahead 69-57 with 5:01 left.
Andrey Semenov, who scored 17 points for the Dukes, scored eight points during the run, including a pair of 3-pointers.
James Madison (8-7) closed the first half with a 20-4 burst to lead 44-35 at halftime before the Pirates climbed back into the game.
Humpty Hitchens added 15 points for the Dukes, and Davis made five steals.
