HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Jeremy Atkinson scored 19 points to lead six players in double figures and North Carolina-Asheville beat High Point 86-79 on Saturday night.
Atkinson, who shot 77.7 percent (7 of 9) from the field, also grabbed eight boards.
High Point (7-10, 3-4 Big South Conference) led 11-9 early in the first half before North Carolina-Asheville used a 19-10 run to take a 28-21 lead with 7:12 left in the first half. The Panthers cut the lead to five, 32-27, but the Bulldogs used another run, this time 17-4, to take a 49-31 lead into halftime.
North Carolina-Asheville (12-6, 6-0) shot 63 percent (30 of 48) from the field as only two Bulldogs shot under 50 percent for the game.
