RICHMOND, Va. -- Jesse Morgan scored 20 points and Massachusetts held off Richmond 79-68 Saturday in Atlantic 10 Conference action.
The Minutemen (15-5, 4-2), who have won three of their last four contests, snapped a two-game road losing streak in league play and a three-game skid in the series.
After Massachusetts went up by 12 points with 15:45 to go, the Spiders (11-9, 2-3) used a 13-3 run to get within a basket, at 49-47 with 11:17 left.
Richmond, which had its last lead at 3-2, could get no closer. The Spiders trailed 59-55 when the Minutemen pulled away with a 16-6 run, sparked by Morgan's 3-pointer.
