FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Mount St. Mary's rallied to score the last five points of the second overtime to beat Sacred Heart 81-80 Saturday.

The Mountaineers (5-16, 3-7 Northeast Conference) trailed 80-76 with 1:46 left in double OT after Sacred Heart scored the first four points of the period. But Mount St. Mary's held the Pioneers scoreless and answered with a run of its own.

Danny Thompson converted a three-point play and Josh Castellanos made two free throws to lift the Mountaineers, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Sacred Heart (10-13, 4-6) had two chances to win after Shane Gibson missed a 3-pointer and Justin Swidowski's tip-in came up short.

Castellanos paced the Mountaineers with 19 points, Julian Norfleet added 16, Thompson 13, Kelvin Parker 11 and Raven Barber 10.

Gibson, the NEC's leading scorer (20.7) finished with 41 points on 16-of-28 shooting. His 3-pointer with 19 seconds left sent it to overtime, 70-70.
