LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Larry Anderson scored 16 points to lead five Long Beach State players in double figures as the 49ers defeated Cal State Northridge 75-67 Saturday night.
T.J. Robinson added 14 points and 11 rebounds for Long Beach State (17-6, 10-0), which is off to its best conference start since winning 12 straight Big West games to start the 1973-74 season. The win was also Long Beach State's 18th straight in regular-season conference play.
Both teams shot 41 percent from the floor, but Long Beach held a big advantage at the free-throw line. Although they only converted 56 from the line, the 49ers made 39 trips to the charity stripe, making 22. Northridge was just 12 of 17.
