CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Doug McDermott scored 18 points and Creighton broke a Missouri Valley record by shooting 77.5 percent in an 88-69 victory over Southern Illinois on Tuesday night.

The Bluejays, who came in first in the nation in field goal percentage at 50.4, improved on that by making 31 of 40 shots, including 12 of 14 from 3-point range. That bettered the conference record of 74.5 percent (38 of 51) set by Bradley against West Texas State in 1984.

Jahenns Manigat scored 17 points, including five 3-pointers, as the Bluejays (22-5, 12-4) snapped a three-game slide. Gregory Echenique, Antoine Young and Ethan Wragge added 15 points apiece.

Echenique blocked two shots, giving him 100 for his career, and grabbed nine rebounds. Young had eight assists.

Mamadou Seck led the Salukis (8-19, 5-11) with 16 points. T.J. Lindsay scored 13 and Dantiel Daniels 12 as Southern Illinois dropped its third straight.
