EDINBURG, Texas -- Brandon Provost had 16 points and six assists and Texas-Pan American hit 11 3-pointers in a 74-70 victory over Chicago State on Saturday night.
The Cougars were perfect from the free-throw line, but had only nine attempts. Pan-American was 17 for 21 at the line, while hitting 11 of 27 3-point shots.
The Broncs trailed 58-49 before scoring 10 straight points and taking the lead on Provost's 3-pointer with 9:58 remaining. It remained a one-possession game the rest of the way until Nick Weiermiller hit two free throws for Pan-Am with 5 seconds left to account for the final scoring.
