CHICAGO -- Ramel Mitchell scored 17 points as Urbana picked up its first victory in school history over a Division I team with a 59-55 win over Chicago State on Saturday.
Urbana had failed in its previous 21 tries against Division I programs.
The Blue Knights scored the first seven points but trailed 27-25 at the half.
Pearl's three-point play gave Urbana a 55-47 edge with 2:33 left before Fisher, Rosenberg and Simmons brought the Cougars within 55-53 with 1:10 to go. But Mitchell hit four free throws to clinch it.
