BOONE, N.C. -- Nathan Healy matched his career high with 24 points and Appalachian State dominated the second half to rally past UNC Greensboro 83-70 Monday night for its fifth straight win.

The Mountaineers (7-8, 3-1 Southern Conference), who trailed by 10 in the first half and 39-32 at the break, roared out of the locker room with a 13-0 run to lead 45-39 with 15:57 remaining.

After Appalachian State expanded its cushion to 14 with 6:36 to play, Trevis Simpson, whose 22 points led the Spartans, rattled off five points to make it 69-60. The Mountaineers then pulled away for good.

Appalachian State was 28 of 34 from the free-throw line, compared to 18 of 26 for UNC Greensboro.

Derrell Armstrong added 20 points for the Spartans (3-12, 1-3), who have lost seven of their past eight games despite entering the game ranked as the SoCon's top offense (74.2 points per game).
