SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Mikh McKinney led five players in double figures to lead Sacramento State to an easy, 73-43 win over Division III UC Santa Cruz Friday night.
The Hornets shot 56.5 percent from the field (26-for-46), but also struggled at the line, hitting 58.6 percent on 17-for-29 shooting.
The Banana Slugs were ice-cold from the field, connecting on just 15 of 51 shots from the floor, and to make matters worse shot just 8 of 22 from the free throw line. Four players each scored eight points to tie for team high honors.
Sacramento State jumped to a big first-half lead, taking a 37-15 advantage into intermission by using a size-advantage inside.
