ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Winthrop led start to finish in an 88-62 victory over Campbell on Saturday.

Joab Jerome and Keon Johnson scored 13 points each and Larry Brown and Andrew Smith 12 apiece for the Eagles (13-10, 6-4 Big South).

The Eagles shot 54.8 percent to take a 45-23 lead at halftime and finished the game at 50.9 percent. They outrebounded the Camels 41-27, including 16 on the offensive boards that led to a 14-4 edge in second-chance points.

The Camels (11-14, 5-5) were led by Darius Leonard with 15 points. Kyre' Hamer added 14, Reco McCarter 12 and Luke Moyer 11.

The Eagles led by as many 31 points with the 24-point margin of the victory the largest in conference play under second-year coach Pat Kelsey.

The victory enabled Winthrop to remain a game behind of co-leaders Coastal Carolina and UNC Asheville in the South Division. Campbell is fourth in the North.
