MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- DeMarcus Robinson made 8 of 16 field goals and scored 21 points to lead Alabama State to a 78-51 victory over Auburn-Montgomery, an NAIA school, Saturday.
Brandon Graham, who made all three of his attempts from beyond the arc, contributed 15 points and 10 rebounds for Alabama State (5-5). Luther Page added 10 points and Maurice Strong had 12 rebounds and nine points.
Alabama State started strong, scoring 21 points while limiting Auburn-Montgomery to three in the first eight minutes of the game. The Warhawks made a charge, outscoring Alabama State 18-9 but could only close to 30-22 at the 2:31 mark of the first half. Brandon Howard and Quay Davis sparked that run as they both hit 3-pointers.
The Hornets led 37-22 at the break. They outscored the Warhawks 41-29 in the second half.
Brett Person and Howard led Auburn-Montgomery with 12 points each. Davis contributed 11 points.
