ESPN'S TAKE
Jim Donnan Toledo displayed tremendous run/pass balance and QB Bruce Gradkowski ran the Rockets offense flawlessly in the rout over UTEP. Toledo's defense mixed things up well and confused UTEP QB Jordan Palmer. The Miners couldn't deal with Toledo's physical offensive line or answer the challenge of the Rockets' early scores. -- Jim Donnan

David Washington and Toledo pulled away in the second quarter.
Miners Rendered Minor
Mike Price has transformed UTEP from lovable losers into a winning program. But Price's bid to bring a bowl win to the Miners was stopped cold Wednesday. Led by Bruce Gradkowski's five TD passes, Toledo rolled to a 45-13 victory in the GMAC Bowl. Story

It Was Over When …

Leading 7-3 after the opening quarter, Toledo rattled off 21 points in the second quarter. That took the starch out of UTEP.

Game Ball Goes To …

Bruce Gradkowski. The senior QB's five TD passes were a career high. "He had to win," his mother told ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe, adding that she hopes her son gets drafted by their hometown Pittsburgh Steelers.

Stat Of The Game
