BOSTON -- Mathias Kiwanuka summed up what No. 19 Boston College knows about Boise State in one simple sentence.

"I know their turf is blue," the all-ACC defensive end said on Sunday when the Eagles found out they will travel to Boise to play the Broncos in the MPC Computers Bowl on Dec. 28.

Indeed, Bronco Stadium is perhaps most famous for its blue artificial playing surface, but it's also where Western Athletic Conference champion Boise State (9-3, 7-1) has won 31 consecutive games dating to Sept. 22, 2001. The Broncos are 45-1 at home since 1999.

"We know we're playing a great football team so we better be ready," Boston coach Tom O'Brien said.

The Eagles (8-3, 5-3 ACC) have won five consecutive bowl games, the longest streak in the nation.

"If we can make that six, that's awful special," Boston athletic director Gene DeFilippo said.

Kiwanuka doesn't think the Eagles will be intimidated playing on their opponents home field. After all, they beat North Carolina 37-24 in the Continental Tire Bowl in Charlotte, N.C. last season.

"We'll just treat it as a normal road game," Kiwanuka said.
