Dan Henderson-Tim Boetsch named as headliner for UFC in New Orleans

A middleweight bout between Dan Henderson and Tim Boetsch will headline a UFC Fight Night on June 6 in New Orleans, promotion officials said Monday.

A light heavyweight fight featuring Daniel Cormier and Ryan Bader was originally scheduled as the main event, but Cormier (15-1) was pulled to replace recently stripped champion Jon Jones in a title fight against Anthony Johnson at UFC 187 on May 23.

Bader (19-4), who has said he would like to wait for the winner of that title fight, was formally removed from the card on Monday.

Henderson (30-13) was already supposed to fight Boetsch (18-8) on the card, although the fight will now be scheduled for five rounds instead of three. A heavyweight fight between Matt Mitrione (9-3) and Ben Rothwell (34-9) will now serve as the co-main event.

UFC Fight Night will take place at the Smoothie King Center.
