Navy-Notre Dame series to continue through 2016
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Navy-Notre Dame football series, the nation's longest intersectional college football rivalry, will continue through at least 2016, with the teams returning to Ireland to play in 2012.
The schools announced Thursday that they had signed a 10-year contract. The sites for Navy's home games haven't been determined except for in 2012, when the game will be played in Dublin. In 1996, a crowd of 38,651 in Dublin watched Notre Dame beat Navy 54-27.
