Baylor hires Hays to be new offensive coordinator

WACO, Texas -- Lee Hays was hired Monday as offensive coordinator at Baylor, his first NCAA Division I-A coaching job after a successful stint in the same position at West Texas A&M.

Hays replaces Brent Peace, who resigned Nov. 23, four days after the Bears finished a 5-6 season in which they were considered much improved but were still 96th nationally in total offense (317.9 yards per game) and 90th in scoring (21.45 points per game).
