Boston College DE skips court date to travel to bowl
BOSTON -- A Boston College football player who skipped a court appearance on a drunken driving charge to travel to the MPC Computers Bowl was ordered to appear after he returns from Idaho, a spokesman for the Suffolk district attorney said.
Defensive end Jeff Burns, who was arrested Saturday night in the city's Brighton section, was with the team Wednesday in Boise, Idaho, to play Boise State. The team left over the weekend for Boise.
