Former Ga. Tech, NY Giant player Beck dies at age 75

CEDARTOWN, Ga. -- Former Georgia Tech guard Ray Beck, who went on to play with the New York Giants, died Tuesday after an extended illness. He was 75.

Beck played four years at Tech and had his best season his senior year in 1951, when the Yellow Jackets finished 11-0-1 including a 17-14 victory over Baylor in the Orange Bowl. The 1951 season was part of a streak of 30 games without a loss. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1997.
