Ball State tried to keep Hoke, who quits for SDSU job

After a 12-1 season, Ball State coach Brady Hoke has resigned, athletics director Tom Collins said on Monday.

ESPN's Joe Schad reported on Sunday that Hoke agreed to coach San Diego State next season.
