Snyder gets five-year deal

Kansas State coach Bill Snyder received a five-year contract that will keep him at the school through the end of the 2013 season.

Snyder will be paid $9.575 million over the course of the contract, which is retroactive to Feb. 1, 2009.

Snyder, who will turn 70 on Oct. 7, returned to coach the Wildcats last season after retiring in November 2005. He had said many times since his return that he came back to coaching to "smooth the waters" after the tumultuous tenure ...
