Pitt, Penn State agree to pair of games
Pennsylvania's long-dormant in-state rivalry is set to be revived in 2016.
Pittsburgh and Penn State have signed a home-and-home agreement for football games in the 2016 and 2017 seasons, the two schools announced on Tuesday.
Pitt will host the Nittany Lions on Sept. 10, 2016. The Panthers will play at Penn State on Sept. 16, 2017.
The two teams have played 96 times, but haven't faced each other since 2000, when Pittsburgh beat Penn State 12-0 at Three Rivers Stadium.
