2nd man sentenced in football player's slaying
DETROIT -- A 22-year-old Detroit man has been sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison for his role in the shooting death of a college football player outside a downtown nightclub.
Anton Blevins also was sentenced Wednesday in Wayne County Circuit Court to five to 10 years for six counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm.
Cortez Smith was slain in 2011 during an argument in the nightclub's parking lot. A 25-year-old man was wounded.
