Jacksonville, Fla. | Dec. 29, 1978
It wasn't Ohio State coach Woody Hayes' first tirade, but it became his last. After Clemson's Charlie Bauman intercepted a pass late in the Tigers' 17-15 victory in the 1978 Gator Bowl, his momentum carried him into the Ohio State sideline. When a frustrated Hayes punched Bauman, he didn't hurt him, but you could have knocked college football over with a feather. The next morning, Ohio State fired Hayes.
