Ole Miss Athletics

#95
MAN OF THE HOUSE

Birmingham, Ala. | Oct. 4, 1969

It was the first nationally televised night game, and why bother with a second? Ole Miss's Archie Manning put up 540 yards of total offense (436 passing, 104 rushing), yet Scott Hunter's 15-yard touchdown pass to George Ranager with 3:42 to play gave Alabama a 33-32 victory. Hunter won the game. Manning won the hearts of the nation.
